The Faces of Rescue

Katie Jeter

Photographer
I purchased my first DSLR in 2007, shortly after the birth of my son. Since then, my desire to learn and to create has taken me all over the country, photographing weddings and families. Animal photography was never on my radar until I worked as the Director of a local rescue through the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, it is one of my favorites. I currently live at home in Colorado with my husband and two kids, as well as our two dogs and the world’s coolest cat. It is my hope that, with this book, many people will be inspired to contact their local rescues and animal shelters to help in any way possible - to volunteer, to clean, to aid, and to adopt. According to the ASPCA, roughly 920,000 animals in U.S. shelters are euthanized each year in order to make room for the next intake of cats and dogs in need of a home. These years since COVID have been particularly difficult for these operations. Please, please, please - spay or neuter your animals.
I LOVE IT SO MUCH! All the little faces had me in tears from the beginning - I don't know how you limited yourself to the photos you chose! I loved each and every one!
